Bridal designer Bowen Dryden wanted to create a laid-back but beautiful shoot to show that relaxed, comfortable bridal wear can still be edgy and fashion forward. Publishing real weddings is my favourite. I love to read their stories, hear all about their celebration and swoon over their creative ideas! So, when I first found out this was a shoot, and not a real elopement, I was a tad disappointed. However it turns out that models Aida and Ismeal are a real couple, and the emotions you see in these INCREDIBLE pictures are 100% real... even if they didn't officially get hitched. This is a bit of a different kind of feature for us, but one I really hope you find inspiring and helpful. We were submitted this photo shoot by wedding photographer Emmy Gaines of Searching for the Light. She wanted to shoot a real couple and to show that even if someone has a disability they can still live their life to the fullest. So often, less able-bodied people are ignored by the wedding industry (thankfully this is slowly changing!) but on Rock n Roll Bride we want to champion the fact that EVERY BODY deserves to get married, to have the same wonderful experience and to be treated respectfully by their suppliers and vendors.Read more...

Rock n Roll Bride was built on sharing alternative, inspirational yet attainable real weddings. When I started blogging in 2007 there was no other platform showcasing weddings that sauntered off the beaten path. However through many long hours of trawling wedding forums, Flickr groups and good old fashion Google, I was able to uncover many, MANY incredibly creative, super unique real weddings that weren't being shared anywhere else - I assume because they didn't fit the picture perfect, traditional wedding mould that was so popular a decade ago.Read more...
